About ICSE Help Center

ICSE Help Center is a free, independent help site for students taking the ICSE (Class 10) and ISC (Class 12) examinations conducted by the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE).

We do one job. We take what CISCE has published — circulars, syllabi, specimen papers, result notices — and turn it into plain English you can read on a phone, with the date it was issued and the date we checked it.

Who this site is for

ICSE Class 10 and ISC Class 12 students, their parents and their teachers — mostly aged 14 to 25, in India, on a phone, often late at night and often worried. We write for that reader: short sentences, direct answers first, no hype.

The problems this site exists to solve

CISCE's own documents are often unreadable. Many of the board's most important circulars are scanned image PDFs with no text layer. Of four key 2026 circulars we checked in July 2026, three had no extractable text at all. Such a file cannot be searched or read aloud by a screen reader. We transcribe them into accessible text, keep the issue date, add a plain-English summary, and link the original PDF as the authority.

Recheck and re-evaluation confuse everyone, every May. They are different things, cost different amounts, and run in sequence — re-evaluation opens only after recheck results. We set out the order, the deadlines, and what each can and cannot change.

The Improvement Examination replaced the compartment exam from exam year 2024, and the web has not caught up. Students still call it "compartment", and major sites disagree about how many subjects you may take. Where sources conflict, we say so rather than print an untraceable number.

Internal assessment is a black box. Students see one merged number, never the split behind it. We publish what the internal component is for a subject, who assesses it, and what a student can do about it.

Stream choice after Class 10, and "should I switch to CBSE". Most articles argue about which board is better. Students are asking about mechanics: admission windows, transfer certificates, whether Class 11 registration accepts an ICSE Class 10 result, and what changes in the syllabus.

Percentage is misunderstood. "Best of five" (ICSE) and "best of four" (ISC) are school and college conventions. CISCE does not print an aggregate percentage on the marksheet. Very few sites say this; we say it every time.

Release dates, and an honest "not yet". Specimen papers come out in parts over weeks, and CISCE has replaced one mid-session before, leaving students revising from a dead file. Other sites publish full "2027 date sheets" for a timetable CISCE has not issued. We publish dated status — out, pending, replaced — and write "not released yet" when that is the truth.

Myths that damage decisions. The claim that CISCE holds board exams twice a year is false; that is CBSE's policy, wrongly attached to CISCE. It is live on real sites today, including a domain whose name imitates cisce.org. We correct claims like that with sources.

Documents after results. Getting a marksheet, pass certificate or migration certificate — DigiLocker, school, or CISCE's service portal — goes wrong often. We write down the steps.

What this site does not do

— We are not CISCE and we are not connected to it.

— We cannot see your result, change your marks, or access your marksheet.

— We cannot apply for recheck, re-evaluation, an improvement exam or a duplicate certificate for you. Those go through your school or CISCE's portals.

— We do not sell exam access, question papers, "guaranteed" results or agent services.

— We do not host leaked papers or scraped solution dumps.

— We cannot tell you exam dates before CISCE publishes them, and we will not guess.

For anything official, use cisce.org and results.cisce.org. If we disagree with a CISCE circular, the circular is right.

How our content is produced and checked

Official CISCE sources are the only authority we accept for dates, fees, eligibility and rules. Every factual page carries the date it was last reviewed. Some drafts are AI-assisted; every published page is reviewed by the ICSE Help Center Editorial Team against primary sources before it goes live. Full rules: Editorial Policy.

Who operates this site

ICSE Help Center is operated by Gyaniversity Publications, an Indian educational publisher.

We name the operator on purpose. Wrong exam information costs students money, and anonymity is how bad information survives. Naming it means a real organisation is answerable for this site, an email a person reads, and corrections that get made and dated.

Gyaniversity Publications also operates help centres for other Indian boards and exams. We say so rather than present them as unrelated sites.

Free to read, and how we are funded

Everything here is free. No account, no login wall, no paywall, no email required.

The site is funded by advertising and by Gyaniversity Publications' own products — ICSE and ISC study guides, and Gyani AI subject tutors. When we recommend one of our own products we say plainly that it is ours, in the visible text of the page. Recommendations never change the facts we publish, and never appear on pages about results anxiety, mental health, or a "Not Qualified" outcome.
