ICSE & ISC Question Papers

Official CISCE specimen question papers for ICSE Class 10 and ISC Class 12, organised by subject. CISCE does not maintain a public previous-year paper archive the way some other boards do; the specimen papers released each year (with select answer keys) are the primary official prep resource. Each subject page links the correct official specimen papers and explains the exam pattern.

Specimen papers and past papers for ICSE & ISC

CISCE publishes specimen question papers for ICSE (Class 10) and ISC (Class 12) on its official site — treat these as the pattern authority for the current session. Past papers from recent years remain excellent for practice volume, and the question style is famously consistent.

ICSE and ISC papers reward precise, structured answers more than most boards: definitions as taught, working shown in full, and diagrams where the subject expects them. Practising from papers without checking answer structure builds speed but not marks.

A paper-practice routine that fits CISCE marking

  1. One specimen paper per subject first — The current specimen paper shows the section structure and internal choice before you touch older papers.
  2. Practise full answers, not outlines — CISCE examiners mark what is written, and part-marks follow visible working. Train writing complete answers from the start.
  3. Time the paper to its real duration — ICSE/ISC papers are long for their duration in several subjects — finishing is a skill you practise, not assume.

Internal assessment counts: Most ICSE/ISC subjects carry an internal or practical component alongside the written paper. Past papers only cover the written share — confirm your subject's split in the current CISCE syllabus.

Frequently asked questions

Does CISCE publish previous-year question papers?

CISCE does not maintain a public year-wise previous-paper archive comparable to some other boards. The main official study resource is the annual set of specimen question papers, released on cisce.org each year (usually August). The Analysis of Pupil Performance reports — which include examiner commentary on actual question papers — are also published on cisce.org.

Where can I download ICSE and ISC specimen papers?

Specimen question papers for ICSE Class 10 and ISC Class 12 are published on the official CISCE website at cisce.org. Open the Examinations section and look for Specimen Question Papers. The 2026-cycle set includes select answer keys.

Are the specimen papers the same as the actual board paper?

Specimen papers are model question papers released by the board to show the format, question types, and difficulty level for the exam. They are not the same as papers from past years, but they follow the current syllabus and marking scheme and are the best officially sanctioned preparation resource.
