Editorial Policy

This page explains where our information comes from, how it is checked, how we handle mistakes, and how we use AI. It applies to every page here.

Our editorial identity is the ICSE Help Center Editorial Team. The site is operated by Gyaniversity Publications, an Indian educational publisher.

1. Our sourcing standard

Official CISCE sources are the only authority for dates, fees, eligibility and rules:

— cisce.org and cisce.org/circulars/ — where rule changes appear first

— results.cisce.org — results, recheck and re-evaluation portals

— cisce.org/icse-publications/ and cisce.org/isc-publications/ — syllabi and specimen papers

— cisce.org/public-services/ — applications

Any rule, fee, deadline or eligibility condition we state must be traceable to one of those, and we link the source with its issue date.

Other sites and news outlets are used only to notice that something happened, never as the sole basis for a fact. A claim found only in secondary reporting is labelled in the text — outlet named, date read, unconfirmed against a circular. We would rather publish "we do not know yet" than a number we cannot source.

Many CISCE circulars are scanned images with no text layer, so software cannot read them. A person opens the PDF before we publish from it, and transcription pages say who did so and when.

2. Verification, and when sources disagree

Before publication, an editor checks each claim against the primary document and records the source and date.

When sources disagree — common on this board — we apply this order:

— The CISCE circular wins. Always.

— If no circular has been read, we publish the disagreement rather than resolve it: each source named, dated, unresolved.

— We never average conflicting figures, or pick the one that reads better. A number used by both an article and a tool is stored once, so the two cannot contradict each other.

Example: sites disagree on how many subjects the Improvement Examination allows. Until we have read the circular, we say so rather than choose.

We also separate what CISCE issues from school and college convention. "Best of five" (ICSE) and "best of four" (ISC) are conventions; CISCE prints no aggregate percentage on the marksheet. That caveat appears wherever percentages do, including inside our calculators.

3. Review cadence and dating

— Every factual page carries a last-reviewed date; trackers carry a last-checked timestamp.

— Calendar-driven pages — timetables, specimen releases, results, recheck and improvement windows — are reviewed on the CISCE cycle they belong to, and whenever a relevant circular appears.

— We do not re-date a page to look fresh. If nothing changed, the review date moves and the content does not.

— When CISCE has not published something, we say so with a date. A dated "not yet" beats an invented answer.

4. Corrections policy

If a page here is wrong, we want to hear about it. Email hello@icsehelpcenter.com with the page address and the problem; gyaniversity.publications@gmail.com also reaches us.

— We acknowledge correction reports within 3 working days.

— Clear factual errors — a wrong date, fee or rule, a dead official link — are fixed, or the claim removed, once we have checked the source.

— Corrections are logged on the page itself: the date, what it said before, what it says now, and the source that settled it. We do not edit quietly.

— If a claim cannot be verified once questioned, we remove it rather than defend it.

— We keep a public site-wide corrections log.

5. AI-assistance disclosure

Some drafts on this site are AI-assisted. Every published page is reviewed by the ICSE Help Center Editorial Team against primary sources before it goes live.

— AI is used for drafting and structuring, from sources we have already gathered.

— AI is never the final authority on a fact. No date, fee, rule or figure is published because a model said it; a person checks it against the CISCE document.

— AI is never used to guess the contents of a scanned circular. If the file has no readable text, a person opens it.

— We use assistance because it lets a small team publish a circular in plain English in hours, not days. It does not lower the checking standard.

6. Independence and advertising

This site is funded by advertising and its operator's products.

— Ads are labelled and kept separate from editorial content. They never sit inside our text as though they were part of an answer.

— Ad revenue never decides what we publish or what we say. No advertiser sees or approves content before it goes live.

— Gyaniversity Publications publishes ICSE and ISC study guides and runs Gyani AI subject tutors. When we recommend our own product, the page says plainly that it is ours, in visible text — not a footnote.

— A recommendation appears at most once per page, after your question has been answered — never on a circular transcription, and never on pages about mental health, results anxiety or a "Not Qualified" outcome.

7. What we will never publish

— Leaked or pirated question papers, or anything claiming to be one.

— Guaranteed-result claims. No page here will tell you a score, rank or pass is assured.

— Paid-agent or "get your marks changed" services. No such service is legitimate.

— Scraped solution dumps, or content copied from other sites.

— Student community posts republished wholesale. We may note that a question is widely asked; we do not reproduce the posts.

— Exam dates for a cycle CISCE has not issued a timetable for. Inventing a date sheet for children is what this site exists to correct.

— A toppers list, or any claim that one exists.

— Unverified helpline numbers. Helplines are re-checked at every review.

8. Not affiliated with CISCE

ICSE Help Center is an independent student help resource operated by Gyaniversity Publications. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE), the board that conducts the ICSE and ISC examinations. We cannot act or apply on your behalf.

For official information, always use cisce.org — and beware of lookalike domains. The only official CISCE domain is cisce.org.
